Hi, I’m a 10-year old girl living in the beautiful but challenging landscape of Bwira, Rwanda. I live here with my two sisters and we help our family by looking after our animals. I love going to school, especially because I get to learn arithmetic, which is my absolute favourite! When I’m not busy with chores or school, I really enjoy playing ball games.
Our community is one of the poorest in Bwira. Before the arrival of FH, most of us drank swamp water and fetching it used to take ages! Now, through sponsorship, things are changing for the better. I get to attend school more often and receive essential health care. And it’s not just me, all of us in the community are benefitting. We are learning new techniques to farm better, raise livestock effectively and create income-generating avenues. Every step we take brings us closer to our dream of being a self-sufficient community. So, even though we have a long journey ahead, we’re filled with hope and determination. Please keep us in your prayers as we strive for a brighter tomorrow. It’s a tough life, but I know with a bit of hope and your support, my family, my community and I can make it better.
