My Name is Diego

Hi, I'm an 11-year-old boy living in Cotzal, a northern region of Guatemala. I have two sisters, one brother, and a big love for language studies at school. When I get home, I enjoy helping my family and kicking a soccer ball around.

Life here is tough, especially since many dads have to travel far for work in coffee farms. Our land carries the scars of a civil war that happened before I was born. A lot of time, we're busy just trying to grow food to survive and sometimes education was a luxury we couldn't afford. But things are getting better.

Thanks to a child sponsorship, I'm able to go to school and learn, look forward to a brighter future. Our parents are learning too - moms about health care and dads about farming. Even though things can be difficult, I believe in a better future for me, my family, and my community. I appreciate all the support and hope you're giving me. So, here's me asking you to keep us in your prayers. Thank you for believing in me.
