My Name is Santiago

Hello there! I'm an eight-year-old boy living here in Cotzal, a northern part of Guatemala, with my two brothers. I'm happy to tell you, I'm pretty healthy! School is fun, especially drawing class - I just love bringing to life all that I imagine. And guess what? As soon as I get back from school, I am the family helper and get to sweeping! Soccer, though, that's the best part of my day, for sure.

Life here is numbered by seasons - it's all about the farms and growing corn and veggies. Sometimes, our dads have to go far away to coffee farms, just to make sure we have enough of everything. You see, things weren't always easy here - a war happened before I was born, and its scars are still fresh for many.

But you know what, now there's a ray of hope! More kids are going to school, thanks to this group called FH. They even give health tips to our moms and farming tips to our dads. Just think about it - I get to learn, dream, and hope for a good future, all because of them and supporters like you. Please remember my family and me in your prayers. We are working hard to make our little community better. Thank you for giving me this chance.
