Hiya, I'm an 8-year-old boy, living with my two sisters and three brothers in Cotzal, a northern region of Guatemala. I love math at school and don't mind helping tidy up our home after. Kicking around a soccer ball is pretty fun too!
Most folks in my neighborhood have little farms to grow maize and other veggies they sell in the market. My dad, like many others, goes away for a long time to work in coffee farms so that we can make ends meet. Troubles from a bad war before I was born still affect us, but things are getting better.
Thanks to people like you sponsoring kids like me, most of the children in my community are now able to attend school. The helpers from FH teach our mommas about healthcare and give us hygiene kits. Our papas learn better farming techniques. Your support is giving me and my family hope for a better future.
