Patty-Leigh Thielmann

Canada - VP of International Programs

Patty- Leigh Thielmann serves as the VP, International Programs at Food for the Hungry Canada. Since joining the team in 2019, she has considered it to be a joy and honour to work with the global FH family in global poverty alleviation.

She grew up as a missionary kid in Kenya and has worked in global relief and development for nearly 20 years. Following 9/11, Patty-Leigh spent two years working in Afghanistan. During those two years, she saw incredible need coupled with innovation and determination to rise up, and women who faced great hardship, yet still remained optimistic for their future and their children’s future. This experience deeply impacted her. She is passionate about tearing down ancient power imbalances and achieving equality for all.

Patty-Leigh is married to a Canadian and loves living in Abbotsford, B.C. with her two kids.
