Ben Svehla

Canada - Sr. Director of Operations

Ben joined Food for the Hungry Canada in 2022 as the Senior Director of Operations and feels privileged to be part of such a great team focused on addressing the root causes of poverty. In his role, he provides support to the Finance, IT, Human Resources and Supporter Services teams. Prior to joining FH Canada, Ben spent half of his career working with a Relief and Development organization leading their Social Enterprise division, and the other half with Fortune 500 organizations in various leadership and operations roles. He loves diving into the numbers, finding operational efficiencies, and most importantly supporting the growth and development of the staff he works with.

Ben and his wife have been married since 2018 and live in Chilliwack, BC with their little rescue dog, Sofi. They enjoy exploring the outdoors and engaging in a variety of sports. Ben is passionate about serving in his local church and has been a youth leader for a number of years
