Franz Meier

Canada - Board Member

Franz is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and is currently working as an HR People Services Manager with the Canadian Red Cross, the largest humanitarian network in the world. In this capacity, he had the opportunity to develop and lead strategies to efficiently engage and deploy staff and volunteers across the Canadian Healthcare Sector during the global COVID-19 crisis, shape the implementation strategy for major software upgrades to develop efficient processes, and manage the transition to a decision-making module that is centered on data visibility.

Before working for the Canadian Red Cross, Franz completed his Masters in Human Security and Peacebuilding and was deployed as a Disaster Risk Reduction Officer with the International Organization for Migration (related organization to the UN) in Kathmandu, Nepal where he worked on creating resilient strategies for an imminent earthquake in the Kathmandu Valley which later occurred in the spring of 2015.

Franz currently lives in Ottawa with his wife Lisa and their four teenage children. He loves mountain biking, camping, and traveling.
