Alice Kamau
Rwanda - Country Director
Alice Kamau is the Country Director of Rwanda at Food for the Hungry (FH) and serves out of FH’s office in Kigali, Rwanda. Alice has over 20 years of experience with different organizations, including Bilateral Programs, international non-governmental organizations, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in South Sudan, Veterinaires Sans Frontieres (VSF), and ITDG (now Practical Action). Her expertise is in program design, business development, strategic planning, networking, mentoring, and leadership development. She joined FH in 2009 as the Program Director for Kenya and held this position for six years before transitioning to her current role of Country Director of Rwanda in 2016.
Alice earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Production from Egerton University in Kenya, and a Master of Philosophy Degree in Environmental Studies: Planning and Management Option from Moi University. She is also a certified Environmental Impact Assessment Auditor.
She says, “I am inspired by following God’s call in responding to human suffering and witnessing households and individuals move out of extreme poverty and getting transformed through the work of Food for the Hungry.”
