SJE Anglican Church

St John the Evangelist (SJE) Anglican Church in Edmonton is friends with Cachiman, Haiti and spiritual home for a number of us who have found that FH Haiti’s partnership with the people of the community of Cachiman is a gift to us.

In March 2014, three members of this parish were sent on a visioning trip to meet the members of the Cachiman community, to be taught by the field staff about their work there, and to witness the fruits of the work. The team found that they received far more than they gave. The people and the pastors of the churches of Cachiman humbled the team with their faithfulness, courage, and leadership—they loved their home and neighbours enough to desire transformation for all. And the team gave witness to the faith, commitment and skill of the FH staff. The report the team came back with caught our attention. In partnering with FH in Cachiman, we are given a meaningful way to be responsive to Jesus’ command to extend ourselves …to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8). In addition, we value the opportunity to support, and learn from, our brothers and sisters in Christ in their local mission of community transformation.
