Hello, I am a young girl. I have 4 sisters and 1 brother. My health is good. In school, my favourite subject is mathematics. When I get home from school, I help my family by sweeping. I enjoy dolls.

I live in a northern region of Guatemala called Cotzal. Many families in my community have small farms to grow things like maize and other vegetables to sell in the market. Many of our fathers are gone for long periods of time for seasonal work in coffee farms to provide for their families. There was an ugly civil war here before I was born, and we are still feeling the effects of that. Child sponsorship is helping me and empowering my family to take care of me. Before FH came to my community, about half of the kids did not attend school because of malnutrition or because their parents could not afford to send them. Now, things are changing! Nearly all of the kids are able to go to school. FH staff are helping me reach my God-given potential. Staff teach our mothers about preventative health care and give us hygiene kits. Our fathers learn better ways to farm. I can go to school and learn - I get a chance at a future. Please pray for me and my family as we work with our community to make things better.
