Hey there! I am a 16-year-old girl living with my two sisters and two brothers in the gorgeous mountainous village of Bungwaanyi, in the eastern Mbale region of Uganda. I enjoy going to school, especially when it’s time for a math class - I love numbers! After school, I like helping out at home, usually by washing dishes. I'm also pretty good at netball and try to play whenever I can.
Life here is simple yet challenging. My homeland, Uganda, is rich with wildlife and delicious food, but we also face struggles. Poverty is prevalent due to our painful history of civil war. Our community, including nearly 233 families, didn't always have access to clean water or enough food.
Things are looking up, though, thanks to the caring folks from FH. I feel blessed as their sponsorship has strengthened my family and me. They inspire me to work hard in school and help my family become self-sustainable through innovative farming techniques for crops and animals. They've also brought us closer to other children and community members, forming a tight-knit support system. Despite our hardships, I can't wait to see what the future holds for us. Please keep me, my family, and my village in your prayers as we strive for a better life. Your support means the world to us!
