Hi there! I'm a 6-year-old girl living in Bumutsopa, a mountainous community in the Mbale region, east of Uganda. I have a big family-with 3 sisters and 7 brothers! I love going to school, particularly my English lessons. After school, I lend a hand by fetching water for my family. Games with balls are my favourite!
Our community is a blend of about 1,094 families, and we mostly speak Lumasaba. Some also speak Swahili, Luganda, or English. Our words give life to tales of Uganda’s beautiful wilderness and yummy food like matoke and mangos. Things haven't always been easy here because of the civil war that happened a long time ago. Most of us are poor and clean water or enough food were hard to find until FH came.
Thanks to your help, I'm now able to study hard, visit the health clinic when I'm unwell, participate in kids' clubs, and play with my pals! The kind folks from FH visit my family too, guiding us to grow our own food and maintain our soil. They even help us care for animals like cows and goats, so now we always have plenty to eat! They are working with our church leaders and elders to make things better for us. Thank you for giving me a reason to smile and a brighter future. Please pray for me, my family, and our village as we work hard to overcome poverty together.
