Hi there! I'm a 14-year-old boy from Bumutsopa, a mountainous area in the Mbale region of Uganda. I have a large family- 3 sisters and 2 brothers. I have good health, thank goodness! School is a big part of my life, and science is my favourite thing to learn. After school, I help my family take care of our animals. Soccer is my absolute favourite thing to play!
My community is big, with around 1,094 families. We mostly communicate using the Lumasaba language, but some folks also know Swahili, Luganda or English. Uganda is full of beauty, wild animals, and yummy foods like matoke and mangos. But, we had a long civil war that left a lot of us without much.
Thanks to FH, my family and I have hope! They encourage me to work hard in studies and help me reach my fullest potential. I'm now able to go to school, see a doctor when I'm unwell, join kids’ clubs, and play with friends. They even help my parents learn new farming techniques. My parents, along with our church leaders and elders, are planning for a better future for us all. Please send your prayers for us as we strive to overcome poverty. Your support gives me hope, and I’m so thankful for that!
