It's easy to take health for granted.

While overall child-survival rates are improving year after year throughout the developing world, neonatal death rates – those that happen within the first month of life – remain stubbornly unchanged. Through Food for the Hungry’s International Medical Equipment Distribution (IMED) program, we have the unique ability to directly support the hospitals and clinics serving these vulnerable patients.

Irene from Uganda is like many of us--a parent who longs to see her children have every opportunity for a healthy, thriving life. A recent shipment of birthing beds from FH gave Irene’s newborn twins the fair first shot at life they deserved.

Last year we shipped nineteen 40-foot containers to hospitals and rural clinics in 13 countries. Each shipment was specifically requested by a team of doctors and nurses who had no other access to the specific equipment they needed to help their patients. This year we have enough supplies and equipment to support even more doctors and nurses around the world but we need your help to get it to them.

By donating today, you’ll provide health and hope for thousands of mothers like Irene in developing communities around the world. Every child deserves the opportunity to have a healthy, thriving life – right from the day of its birth.
You donation is matched 2 to 1! The average cost to ship a 40-foot container is $15,000 and the average value of its donated contents is $450,000.

In other words, every $1 donated towards shipping costs helps send $30 worth of lifesaving equipment.
