Children are innocent victims of poverty and often the first to suffer from lack of food, clean water and healthy sanitation. At Food for the Hungry we believe we have a special calling to care for them. FH’s Child Development Program is designed to benefit the entire community: it works together with parents and community leaders to ensure that all children receive hope for their future. Your support of this project allows FH staff to provide access to food, education, medical care and clothing to needy children.

This program’s goal is to evoke a change in community members’ worldviews regarding issues such as gender, the environment, and attaining food security at the household level. In order to realize these goals, this project focuses on three areas: 1) physical environment will be protected and improved, 2) Health status of community members will be improved, 3) three farm co-operatives’, institutional capacity, and the role of women regarding income generation will be enhanced.
FH Canada's International Medical Equipment Distribution (IMED) program delivers hope, health and life-saving medical equipment to communities who are often unable to meet even the most basic medical needs. This project supports this community’s growth of medical sustainability and, ultimately, its member’s physical wellness.
In a rural community, keeping animals healthy and productive is just as important as caring for the wellness of people. Veterinarian education for community leaders as well as basic medical kits help communities prevent and cure common diseases in goats, cows, pigs and chickens. Your support of this project helps ensure the livelihood of the communities’ livestock.
