FH Canada is proud to introduce Stefan and Jessica Holvik, who are preparing to serve as international staff in Peru for four years. “God has constantly been a sustaining presence in our lives. We have not known a time when we have not been His children, and He has been constantly beckoning us to journey with Him. God has been graciously stretching our family in constant small amounts, like crossing a large river by hopping stone to stone. God has been encouraging us to pursue things that would have been very unlikely for us previously.” Partner with the Holvik family today!

In Peru, approximately 83% of women are victims of domestic violence. In slum areas and poor communities, incidents of abuse are suspected to be substantially higher than reported national averages. This project works to decrease domestic violence through educating families suffering from domestic violence about their rights, training community counselors, helping women develop income-generating skills and building partnerships with local churches, empowering them to take part in the program.
Children are innocent victims of poverty and often the first to suffer from lack of food, clean water and healthy sanitation. At Food for the Hungry we believe we have a special calling to care for them. FH’s Child Development Program is designed to benefit the entire community: it works together with parents and community leaders to ensure that all children receive hope for their future. Your support of this project allows FH staff to provide access to food, education, medical care and clothing to needy children.
Thousands of lives have been saved and transformed this year because of this generous and selfless giving:
FH Canada was able to respond to these urgent situations because of this fund. Please consider a donation today. Your gift will deliver hope to families despite the hardships facing them.
This project seeks to improve health habits, general sanitation, and the hygiene and nutrition of the children and families through preventive health education. This program will directly impact 5,601 people. Some of the main activities include: recruitment and training of volunteer health promoters in areas of primary health, first aid, nutrition, disease prevention, and environmental sanitation, pinpointing the key sources of cases of sickness (children with malnutrition, respiratory problems, digestive issues, etc.) to health establishments, promoting health and sanitation campaigns, and providing visits by FH staff to the activities put on by the promoters with in their own communities.
