Emergency Response in Haiti

FH Canada's utmost priority in our current emergency response is developing a strategy regarding how we can most effectively implement our relief funds. Because the situation in Haiti is still being assessed as further information is gathered, our initial priorities are providing shelter, food, medical aid and water purification. We are continually updating our project focus as the situation develops.

Care for Kids Project

Children are innocent victims of poverty and often the first to suffer from lack of food, clean water and healthy sanitation. At Food for the Hungry we believe we have a special calling to care for them. FH’s Child Development Program is designed to benefit the entire community: it works together with parents and community leaders to ensure that all children receive hope for their future. Your support of this project allows FH staff to provide access to food, education, medical care and clothing to needy children.

• Shipping costs covered to send 37,500 CROCS to kids in Burundi whose cracked, bare feet expose them to critical health concerns such as ticks, parasites and infection from open sores.
• Urgent supply of seeds to communities fighting famine in Ethiopia.

• Life saving medical supplies for clinics in Guatemala.
• Food rations for families devastated by typhoons in the Philippines.
