Children are innocent victims of poverty and often the first to suffer from lack of food, clean water and healthy sanitation. At Food for the Hungry we believe we have a special calling to care for them. FH’s Child Development Program is designed to benefit the entire community: it works together with parents and community leaders to ensure that all children receive hope for their future. Your support of this project allows FH staff to provide access to food, education, medical care and clothing to needy children.

The principal goal of this project is to increase community members’ food security through improved farming productivity, household health, hygiene, and disease prevention behaviours and to increase the security of women and children. 70% of this project’s beneficiaries are women as the Anlong Veng District has the lowest percentage of male headed households. [This project currently qualifies for a CIDA 3:1 match - that means for every dollar you donate the Canadian International Development Agency will give three dollars!]
